We are open to all pre-school children in the Otter Valley. Fees are £4.50 per session and we accept funding for 3 and 4 year olds.


Please note that if your child is using Government funding in another setting our fee will be the same as the Government contribution.
Rising 5's will have the opportunity to attend Tipton St John Primary School to familiarise themselves with the following September or January. They may be accompanied by a play group leader and will join in with Class 1. Times and days will vary according to the schools timetable.

Our Playgroup is parent managed by a committee charity, dependent upon fees, fundraising, grants and donations to cover our running costs. Parent help with the running of the sessions by taking turns on the parent Rota or by helping in other ways.

We are members of the Pre-school Learning Alliance, participants in the Devon Early Learning Years Partnership and Registered with Devon Social Services.

Our sessions are planned around the Early Learning Goals (ELG) as directed by the DFEE, the LEA and we are assessed by OFSTED. The areas of learning and ELG are Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Communication, Language and Literacy, Mathematics, Knowledge and Understanding of the World, Physical Development and Creative Development.

The group strongly believes in the children's right to play and learning through play.

Information about planning for the terms are displayed on the playgroup board within the hall. Staff qualifications are PLA/NEC Diploma in Pre-school Practice and St Johns First Aid.
